Imam Abul Hassan Al-Sindi (Arabic)امام أبو الحسن بن محمد صادق السندي، المدني (d.1176 AH/1724 AD). His full name was Abu'l Hasan bin Abu'l Hadi Al Sindi. He was a famous scholar of the Qur'an and Sunnah in Medina, who is known as the founder of the modern Sindhi writing system.
He was born in Sindh, Pakistan and educated there. After becoming a prominent scholar in his native land, and nearing old age, he set off with a caravan to perform the Hajj, and later settled in Medina.
Al-Sindi became a respected teacher of Hadith in Medina. He was a student of Muhammad Hayaat Al-Sindi, another prominent Hadith scholar from Sindh who was also teaching in Medina. One of Muhammad Hayaat as-Sindi's students was Muhammad ibn Abd-al-Wahhab, founder of Wahhabism.
Al-Sindi completed one of the first translations of the Qur'an from Arabic to Sindhi language.
